Frequently asked questions
To help you plan your ideal getaway, we've answered some of our most frequently asked questions below.
Do I need a 4x4 vehicle to get to Kosi Forest Lodge?
Yes. A 4x4 vehicle is required to drive directly to Kosi Forest Lodge due to the sandy roads and its remote location. Guests travelling in their own 4x4 vehicle are advised to plan their journey to arrive no later than 16:00.
For guests without a 4x4 vehicle, we offer twice-daily 4x4 transfers from Manguzi at 12:00 and 16:00.

No, please do not use GPS to navigate to the lodge. GPS apps may be unreliable in the area and may direct guests onto unsuitable roads. Guests should use the official lodge directions provided before travel.
These are downloadable from our website here https://www.kosiforestlodge.co.za/contact-us/ .
Where is the transfer pick-up point?
Guests requiring a lodge transfer should meet a Kosi Forest Lodge representative at the Total Energies service station on the main street of Manguzi. From there, you will be escorted to a secure parking area where you can safely leave your vehicle before continuing to the lodge by open 4x4.
To ensure you arrive in time for the afternoon transfer and before dark, we recommend planning your journey to reach Manguzi no later than 16:00. Your reservations consultant will confirm your transfer time and provide detailed directions before your arrival.
