health and safety

Peace of mind when booking during the COVID-19 period.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

The health and safety of both our guests and staff is paramount to us and we are putting plans in place to ensure that we adhere to the highest standards laid out by the World Health Organization as well as government and industry protocols. We are coming up with innovative ways to ensure that while we maintain these standards we can still give our guests the best possible experience while staying at one of our lodges.

Isibindi is acutely aware that it is extremely difficult to plan and book your holiday right now due to the ever changing scenario of the COVID-19 pandemic. We have issued temporary booking terms and conditions to give you flexibility and peace of mind when booking your holiday in one of our pristine wilderness destinations. Should you have any queries or concerns please feel free to GET IN TOUCH – email [email protected] or call +27 (0)35 474 1473

ISIBINDI TEMPORARY BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR THE COVID -19 PERIOD FOR GUESTS BOOKING DIRECTLY WITH WITH ISIBINDI AFRICA LODGES (please contact [email protected] for TRAVEL TRADE t&c's)

1. GENERAL

1.1 These temporary booking terms and conditions exclude all pre-negotiated group or series travel unless otherwise negotiated and agreed with Isibindi.

1.2 Isibindi standard booking terms and conditions apply to group reservations

1.3 These temporary booking terms and conditions do not cover third party suppliers eg park fees and transfer companies who will have their own terms and conditions.

2. DEFINITION OF THE COVID-19 PERIOD

The COVID-19 period is deemed to be in effect for any of the following reasons:

2.1 The World Health Organisation COVID-19 pandemic status remains in place.

2.2 The government in the guest’s country of residence restricts all but essential travel.

2.3 South Africa or Zimbabwe remain under official government lockdown that prohibits the guest from traveling as per their booked itinerary.

2.4 International flights are cancelled with no alternative routings available for the guest to use to reach the destination in their itinerary.

Only once all of the above reasons have been removed and guests can travel as per normal, excluding any quarantine requirements, will Isibindi’s standard booking terms and conditions be implemented.

3. NEW BOOKINGS

3.1 All new bookings made during the COVID-19 period will be subject to the following terms & conditions.

3.2 All new bookings will be held on a temporary provisional booking basis.

3.3 These temporary provisional bookings will be held until 30 days prior to arrival with no cancellation fees.

3.4 Confirmed temporary provisional bookings require full payment 30 days prior to arrival.

3.5 Within 14 days of the COVID-19 period ending, or at the discretion of Isibindi, all temporary provisional bookings will be required to be confirmed or released as per Isibindi’s standard booking terms and conditions.

4. EXISTING CONFIRMED & PROVISIONAL BOOKINGS FOR TRAVEL DURING THE COVID-19 PERIOD

4.1 Isibindi has amended its standard terms and conditions to allow guests who have existing confirmed or provisional bookings and who cannot travel due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, to postpone their travel dates for up to 2 years from date of  original travel. This special policy will only apply to amendments made up to 31 July 2020, or such later date as advised by Isibindi Africa Lodges. Such postponed bookings will be entitled to carry forward 100% of monies previously paid.

4.2 The decision to cancel or postpone needs to be advised to Isibindi at least 30 days prior to the existing arrival date.

4.3 Postponed bookings need to confirm their new travel dates a minimum of 14 days prior to arrival and will be subject to availability.

4.4 Postponed bookings may be amended twice, thereafter, Isibindi’s standard cancellation policies and penalties will apply.

4.5 Isibindi will honour the original rate charged provided the booking falls within the same season. If a booking for a low season period is postponed to a high season period, Isibindi will charge the difference between the low season and high season rate (as at the time of the initial booking). 3rd party charges e.g. park fees and road transfers will be charged at the rates as at date of travel.

4.6 Should a booking be cancelled rather than be postponed then Isibindi’s standard cancellation policy applies.
